Conveniently situated 25 minutes from downtown Bangkok at kilometer 14 on the Bangna Trad highway, Thana City welcomes you with natural lakes and streams, fast greens, and strategic bunkering. Greg Norman designed the course and it opened for play in 1993. It covers 6,966 yards from the back tees, 6,400 yards from members’ white tees, and fits beautifully into its landscaped surroundings. Excellent drainage allows play to proceed year round.
There is a good mixture of short and long holes and the course design is one of the better ones in Thailand. Generally, the greens are fast and it is important for players to maintain concentration on the greens. The caddies here get good reviews from guests for their knowledge and for their professional attitude. The golf course landscaping makes use of many native trees and flowering shrubs. Plain grasses, reeds and lots of sand were used to create an illusion of a seaside links right in the middle of one of Bangkok's biggest condominium developments. The course layout is enhanced by natural streams, lakes and an abundance of strategically-placed sculptured sand traps. Greens are fast and well-manicured. Good sub-surface drainage allows for play throughout the year.
Clubhouse amenities at this Bangkok golf course are especially good, led by great food and first class massage facilities. Thana City is located directly south of Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport which is a mixed blessing. It is quite convenient to enjoy a round of golf on your way in or out of town, but the drawback is having Boeings overhead all day long. The course layout incorporates natural and sculptured hazards, imposing jungle trees, undulating terrain, crystal streams and lakes, and challenging sand traps that will definitely excite your game.
