Challenging Course by Peter Dye in need of some TLC

Formally known as the Bangna Country Club, but is now called Subhapruek (pronounced su-paa-preuk) Golf Club. The course location is very natural, with only the tall white tower, golden domes and spires of the nearby Assumption University visible above the tree-lined perimeter.

Palm trees line the fairways and water lurks on thirteen of the holes. Grab your driver on every hole if you will but that is not how the pros would play it. Position is everything, even when the landing areas appear generous. You need to control both distance and accuracy from the tees at this course. A pleasant breeze is often present and this course just lays itself in front of you and gives you exactly what you see. This challenging, but fair test of golf and gives higher handicappers escape routes on the more difficult holes. The finishing holes on each nine are the highlights. The par five 8th doglegs slightly around a lake and the par four 9th returns with water along the entire right side of the hole. The 18th is reminiscent of the 18that TPC Sawgrass and is one of the prettiest holes in Thailand golf.
This par 72 course measures an ample 6,837 yards from the back tees, or a clever 6,013 yards from member’s white tees. Subhapruek golf course is a pastoral sculpture of gently rolling fairways and greens framed beautifully by bunkers, big lakes, mature trees, lush gardens of tropical flowers, and spectacular waterfalls with glistening brooks; all strategically shaped into superb golf terrain.
