A challenging course set with lovely views of the mountains
Gassan Khuntan Golf & Resort is home to the first of a handsome triumvirate of Gassan courses to be developed in the northern province of Lamphun, near to Chiang Mai. All three are designed by Gassan's owner, the noted Thai architect Pravit Raeng-Po.
This absorbing and always challenging course contains an abundance of distinctively steep-faced bunkers, along with plenty of water hazards, island greens, sharply dog-legging holes and pleasantly rolling undulations - all designed to pose a challenge to golfers whatever their handicap level.
With tall trees around the perimeter and a river running alongside parts of the course, Gassan Khuntan occupies a wonderfully natural setting. Included in the scenic backdrop is the famous Khuntan railway bridge and tunnel, waterfalls and picturesque views of the Doi Khuntan mountains.
The clubhouse at Gassan Khuntan is modern and is quite different to the surrounding natural scenary. The locker rooms are relatively basic, it has a pro shop and restaurant. There are excellent views of the course from the clubhouse terrace. Other Gassan facilities include chipping & putting greens, and grass driving range.
The course can be a very challenging course even for low handicappers, but if you want a challenge, then this course could be for you.
