This golf course was designed by Bob Mcfarland one of America’s most accomplished golf course designer. He designed this golf course to provide a challenging game for the accomplished golfer. Requiring skill and strategy to overcome the challenge. This course will provide a fair and pleasurable round of golf to the average or the beginning player.
The golf course is rather forgiving and essentially level except at the southwest end of the property where it gets moderately hilly in a few places. What characterizes this layout as being somewhat unusual for a Bangkok golf course is its lack of water hazards, except for the large 250-yard by 230-yard lake outside the clubhouse that defines the finishing holes. Other than that, the course has no appreciable water and trees are few and far between. The bunker count is average but several of the sand hazards are quite large.
There are several notable holes including five with island greens. Holes 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, and the finish to the 18th are all played on separate islands. This starting hole is a monster 463 yard par-4. A long and accurate tee shot is needed to have a par chance and avoid the out-of-bounds left and large bunker complex to the right. The approach shot requires a long iron or fairway wood to a fairly accessible green. The Bangkok golf course signature holes are the long par-4 9th and the par-5 18th. At both holes players have to negotiate a huge lake which protects the green.
