An attractive 27 hole course with great views

Established in 1989, Phuket Country Club was the first golf course on Phuket and the first in Southern Thailand of international standard and has hosted many national tournaments.

The club's 'Old Course', an 18 hole, par 72 course, is a firm favourite for the high handicappers, offering a challenging but rewarding game and some of the best golf they have ever played. Despite this, the course still manages to offer a comfortable challenge for the more experienced player when teeing off from the Championship tees over a tough but fun 6,484 yards.

The 10th hole offers a particularly exciting challenge, being a par 5 which angles it's way round a large lake with the chance of a hole in one for those with the skill and accuracy to carry true over the 240 yards of water. Routing it's way through three scenic landscapes with 6 holes over undulating fairways, 6 holes on the level and 6 holes through shady forest, the layout of the course is as natural and relaxed.

Water is also notable at the short par-4 16th and again at the island green par-3 17th, one of the best short holes in Phuket. A fine array of straight-faced pot bunkers guard several greens, while the more open fairway bunkers provide clear indications of where to drive from the tee.

The club house and facilities are extensive, but have seen better days in the past and are in need of some renovations to bring them up to the standard set by the golf course. Nevertheless, all the practice areas are open to the public and the just may be the most comprehensive golf training facility on Phuket island. The beauty and elegance of the course, together with the typical Thai charm and hospitality in the club house guarantees all golfing at Phuket Country Club a truly memorable occasion.

The Club has hosted LADIES KOSAIDO THAILAND OPEN 1992, PRINCE BERNARD CUP, THAI SENIOR PGA CHALLENGE 2002, PHUKET THAILAND LADIES MASTERS 2005 & PHUKET ASIAN SENIOR MASTERS 2006 and 2008 & 1st-TGA Junior Golf Thailand Regional Championship Challenge 2010.
